NOVEMBER 2014 UPDATE FROM THE BOARD
Sadly in October, we lost one of our Forever Ours pups, Tex who was being fostered in South Carolina. Tex was in the end stages of renal failure and his health had declined so markedly, it was necessary to help him to the Rainbow Bridge. Tex was rescued in May, 2013 and since that time he received loving and attentive care from his foster dad. Thank you to those of you who followed Tex and his story. You can find Tex on our Rainbow Bridge page where we have other UYR fosters who have departed.
Henri, a 12 year old senior being fostered in Iowa, became a Forever Ours pup in early October. Like Tex, Henri suffers from renal issues; he also has dry eye, allergies and periodic fainting spells. He is getting a special diet and support for his eyes, allergies and kidney problems and his foster mom is committed to caring for him for the remainder of his life.
On a happy note, Ralphie, a newer rescue in Florida who was turned into a shelter with a broken pelvis and fractured femur, received the much needed orthopedic surgery to mend his injuries. Thanks to our amazing donors, we were able to cover all of Ralphie’s medical expenses! We are hopeful that the repair will take and he will not require further medical intervention. Without the support of our donors, we would not have been able to help Ralphie or all our other pups. Our thanks go out to all of you who help us make a difference in a dog’s life.
Can you imagine forcing your pet dog to live his or her entire life in a small wire cage with no human companionship, toys, or comfort, and little hope of ever becoming part of a family? That is what life is like for a puppy mill breeding dog. Help us stop this cycle of cruelty that contributes to pet overpopulation and the suffering of countless dogs by adopting your next pet. There are many places you can adopt your next pet, such as an animal shelter, humane society, or a rescue organization. Click on our Looking for Love link and check out all the beautiful Yorkies in our foster program. If you don't see what you are looking for, we recommend visiting www.petfinder.com. You might be surprised to see all the pets available in your area. Remember: Adopt, Don't Shop!
United Yorkie Rescue
UYR is in need of foster homes. We have many more requests for surrender than we can handle. If you would like to become a UYR foster person, please, fill out a "Volunteer Application."
Video of little Henry's recovery! This is just one of the miracles our foster moms perform everyday.
UYR could not continue to rescue Yorkies in need without the help of our donors. To date we have rescued: 2,321 Yorkies and Yorkie mixes. Our vetting costs to date are: $1,174,083!!
Any amount is truly needed and appreciated. A $5.00 donation allows us to purchase Heartworm prevention for a month for a rescue. For $30.00 we can rescue a Yorkie from a shelter that would otherwise be put to sleep. Won't you please consider joining the list of donors on our page to help us continue to save our beloved breed?
If you would like to make a donation to our organization, please use the following PayPal button! Or, send a check to our treasurer at the address below the Paypal button. We are an approved 501(c)(3) organization. All donations are tax-deductible. IRS rules for Donors

FOREVER OURS - 09/01/2011
UYR currently has 6 Yorkies in the Forever Ours Program. These 6 Yorkies will remain with UYR for the rest of their lives. They receive vetting care as needed and this care is provided by UYR and your donations.
Total cost of vetting to date for our 6 Forever Ours Yorkies is: $31,322.49!!
We are happy to say that most of these costs have been covered by donations for the special little ones. Donations for each one are still needed to have money available for their continuing care needs.
We are always looking for people who would be interested in being a 'Sponsor' to one or more of our Forever Ours Yorkies! As a sponsor you will become a cherished person in this dog's life.
You would receive communications about your sponsored pup and your name would appear in their story on the Forever Ours page. If you are interested please contact Carl Sullenberger at firstname.lastname@example.org email@example.com
Please, visit our Forever Ours page!!!
