HAPPY TAILS
At United Yorkie Rescue we are blessed with an extraordinary success rate in finding forever homes for our rescued foster dogs. To share this joy we've created this "Happy Tails" page. Happy Tails is devoted to the celebration of these wonderful stories with everyone who loves dogs. We hope that you enjoy these "Tails" as much as we have. Thank you!!
 Bijou with new dad
|
Bijou
This email came from Bijou to her foster mom and dad (Bijou's Foster Dad's Father adopted her....... Her new owner Paul likes to think of her still as his son and future daughter-in-law's dog... and that he's the grandpa. The French word for Grandfather is Pepere - Pep for short. Of course, Paul knows she's all his and wouldn't trade her for all the money in the world). :)
"Hi Mom & Dad - We're doing just fine here in Westport. Pep takes me with him just about EVERYPLACE !! Maybe it's the cute haircut you gave me...but people are CONSTANTLY falling in love with me. Pep can really get me going - kinda like Papa Luke did.(and that's OK with me) I'm getting plenty of exercise but Pep is being a little (over) protective about me jumping (particularly off of beds) so he has hassocks in place so that I can make it onto and off of beds without much problem. He's a good Pep (but a real softy at times) - I just have to look at him a certain way and he MELTS ! (In fact, sometimes I think he boo hoos ...just because he loves me so much) I'm learning french !! I come when he says "Vien" ... I sit when he says "Assis" ... he uses the word "Dehor" when it's time to go out. The part that bugs me a little is that he even asks me to pee 'on command' - he uses the word "Fait" which means 'DO' - and just to make HIM happy....I try to pee (or poo) when he uses the Fait word.
I love visiting patients with Pep. He's a caring nurse but to tell you the truth....I think his patients are enjoying me more than Nurse Pep (but don't tell him I told you that) I still visit the room that you guys stayed in while you were here at camp. In fact Pep and I use that bed for play-time. I LOVE the sound it makes when I scratch the bed-spread...and...I think I can still pick up your scent. (Which I do miss!!) Pep showers me with kisses throughout the day (and night) - I think 'maybe' I'm the "little girl" in his life !!
Anyways...time to go. Just wanted to "check-in" and say hello. I'll NEVER be able to REALLY express just how grateful I am for "saving me" - You guys are just the BEST foster parents any pooch could ever have. I'm so glad I got to stay in the family. And...when people say that I'm a lucky dog....I just stay quiet and think to myself...Pep is the REAL lucky one. He keeps referring to me as his "little BLESSING"
Love you guys. Kiss each other for me. Bijou
p.s. I want you to know how excited we all are here in Westport regarding the wedding - but I hope you can continue the ministry with United Yorkie Rescue. They NEED good couples like MY foster mom & dad !! You're the BEST !!

 Louie hits the jackpot
|
Louie
Louie has the perfect forever family. After a long search to find the right
family, and enough time to help Louie work through some behaviors, he
has been able to adjust well to his new environment very well.
I spent sometime with him and his family tonight, and was very pleased to
see how happy everyone is with each other.

 Rango and new mom
|
Rango
Finding Rango was one of the best things to happen to me. On 1/3/13 I sat and"talked" with my 13 yr. old Yorkie "Kacey" & explained to her the doctor said she had mesothelioma and that she would get very sick, very soon and that even with treatment, she would not make it.
On 1/7/13 I sent my Kacey to the rainbow bridge to play with family that had passed before her. My heart was broken .
As I was looking through the UYR page, I saw "Rango" his face, his eyes, held the spirit of my Kacey. I read his story and learned he was rescued on 1/3/13. The same day Kacey and I made the decision to let go of one another here in the physical world. I knew, that moment, without a doubt that Rango was sent from her heart, to be rescued, by me.....or better yet, to rescue me! He has stolen my heart, taken over my home and my life! I wouldn't want it any other way. I know his spirit is connected to the other side and that he was "Paw" picked, just for me!

 Sally and new family
|
Sally
Sally is finally with her "Forever" family. Sally's new family have made several visits with Sally during her long stay in foster care, to deliver and care for her puppies. Sally has been a joy to take care of for the last 4 months. Lola will be joining her mommy Sally in a little over a week. This will give Sally time to get settled into her new surroundings.

 Ivy and big new family
|
Ivy
Since we adopted little Miss Ivy, our lives have only gotten better! Ivy is
the happiest little dog, which is hard to believe given her past. She puts
a smile on our faces every single time we look at her. She is getting
more and more comfortable with us, our other dogs, and our house as time
goes on.
Watching Ivy play with her toys is the cutest thing in the world! Words cannot
describe how truly precious Ivy is to us. I think the following quote sums up
Ivy and her life so far: "Not every person knows how to love a dog,
but every dog knows how to love a person."
Ivy had a rough beginning, but from here on out, Ivy will receive nothing but
love and compassion from us, because that's exactly what she gives us, and that's
exactly what she deserves.
Ivy is THE most loving dog and we are so grateful that we found her on the
United Yorkie website. We look forward to the many years ahead that we will be
able to enjoy with her!
Thank you United Yorkie Rescue for saving our little girl's life!

Little One
Here is Little One in Palm Harbor with his new mom and dad, Jackie and Matt June, along with his new doggy brother, Louis. Their kids, Abi-10 and Josh-14, are not pictured but will be very excited to see Little One when they get home from school.
I couldn't help but cry as I left. I thanked them for giving him such a great and loving home knowing the tears were for myself as I have grown to love him so much over the last 5-6 months. I have no doubt he will adjust immediately to his wonderful forever family. Congratulations Little One!
Hooray for the June family!

Millie and Shelby with new family

Shelby
Update 11/29/12: Millie & Shelby have been adopted by Caryn & Paul Franson of Oklahoma City,OK. They have a fur brother Cooper & sister Charity. The Franson's fell in love with Millie's picture. There was something about her that reminded them of their Puppy Mill Survivor Mercy who passed away a year ago. Mercy was was very much loved & cherished by the Franson's for 16 months before she passed away. They also saw Shelby's picture & saw she was also at the same foster home so they decided they would adopt her also. The Fransons drove over 20 hrs to pick up the girls & take them home. They will be missed but now have a wonderful Furever home & we are very happy for the girls. Happy Tails girls!! If you go to the facebook page Mercy OKYR you can read Mercy's story & about the fund set up in her honor to help save other puppy mill survivors.
