HAPPY TAILS

At United Yorkie Rescue we are blessed with an extraordinary success rate in finding forever homes for our rescued foster dogs. To share this joy we've created this "Happy Tails" page. Happy Tails is devoted to the celebration of these wonderful stories with everyone who loves dogs. We hope that you enjoy these "Tails" as much as we have. Thank you!!

Hannah and new family
Hannah

Well, little Miss Hannah went to her new forever home yesterday. She is one lucky little girl as are her parents Barbara and Stan. She will be the only princess in her home and that will suit her very nicely. I received an email this morning from her mama and she is settling in well. Give her a couple of weeks and she'll never know she lived anywhere else, hopefully. Her Foster dad and I will miss her greatly but we know she is off on a bright new path in life. Happy Trails little one!

Dusty and new family
Dusty

Hello everyone, thank you so much for taking me into your UYR family and helping find this wonderful forever family. I am the only fur child they have, which is what I rather enjoy. I have a wonderful little sister that I love to play with, she is kind to me. And my new mom and dad were so excited to have me become a member of their family, they bought me everything I could hope for, like it was Christmas or something..... Christmas was four days before I got here.... I am so happy, looking forward to this New Year.

Love to my UYR family, Dusty

Teddy and new mom
Teddy

Great news, Teddy has finally found someone who will give him the love and attention he has always wanted. He and Mandi got to know each other during the months Mandi was helping me take care of my mother. Whenever Mandi came over Teddy would find his way onto her lap, making it almost impossible for her to leave. Mandi had only one thing on her Christmas list this year, his name was Teddy. They are doing very well, Teddy has settled right in with his fur brother and sister, as well as dad and little sister.

Another happy tails story for a well deserving fur baby!

Timmy and new family
Timmy

Timmy has been adopted by his new forever family, Charlene & Nick. He got to go home just in time for the holidays! The second he met his mom, Timmy was jumping with excitement and drowning her in his kisses. She exclaims, "Adopting Timmy is the best Christmas present ever!" and reports there may already be a present or two under the tree just for him. Congratulations Timmy and enjoy being spoiled rotten for years to come!

Tater Tot and new family
Tater Tot

Congratulations Tater!

Tater Tot finally found his forever home. He was adopted by Linda and Robert, who are both retired and ready to spend all the time he needs adjusting to his new environment, continuing to build his confidence and helping him have the happiest life possible. He never again has to worry about who will be there to keep him company each and every day.

Tater now has a doggie sister, Ginger, who is ALSO a recent UYR graduate & totally adorable. As soon as Tater met Ginger, he tried to give her a lick-kiss right on the nose. FM was a little jealous, since she'd been begging for kisses for weeks now! Ginger must be more his type.

Tater & Ginger snuggled the whole way home. Linda also reports that after Tater's first evening at home, he has been trying very hard to introduce himself to his kitty siblings. He's still trying to figure out why they are hiding under the couch & why he can't follow them under there. Just as suspected, it only took him a few minutes to find every water bowl in the house. That is our Tater! Have fun and enjoy :)

Annie and new dad
Annie

12/02/2014 UPDATE! ANNIE WAS ADOPTED TODAY ~~ HOORAY! She has a little sister named Dixie and they are already getting along very well. Annie came to us very broken, with a severely broken leg and mammary tumors that had to be removed. But she was a real trooper and recuperated nicely. Wishing sweet Annie a happy, happy life!

Noodles

NOODLES was a 9 year old 8.3 lb boy being fostered in Suwanee, GA just outside of Atlanta, whose owner passed away and Noodles was very sad to lose his best buddy.. He is a mild-mannered boy and totally adorable. UYR must have placed him in the perfect home because of the emails they update us with......please read below for updates on Noodles in his new forever home!

2nd update

Hi,

I just wanted to let you know that Noodles is doing great. He acts just like he has been here forever. He lets you know now when it is time to eat. He lets you know when he wants to go outside. We bought him a car seat and he loves to ride and look outside.

Thanks Again.

1st update

Hi,

Noodles is fine. He is so sweet. We took him to vet yesterday got him checked out. The Dr. said he is fine. His Dad took him today and got him groomed, he stayed with him did not want to leave him. He is getting used to us and he sleep all night last night with us. We love him. Thank you for choosing us to be his family. We will take good care of him. He is so good.

Dakota and new family
Dakota

Dakota is happy in her new Texas home. Pictured is Mom Christine holding Dakota, Dad Mike holding Dakota's new fur-sister Sophie (who is also a UYR graduate), and her sister Lauren. Dakota was a bit loud and nervous when she met her new family, but opened up within minutes with her tail wagging wildly. Foster Mom & Dad were so proud of her confidence! She started following around her new pup mate Sophie and kissing Christine right away. Lauren got to hold Dakota on the long drive home from Florida to Texas and now she is reportedly her "main squeeze". We know Dakota found the perfect family to spoil her endlessly. Hooray!

Punky
Punky

Punky, who lived most of her first decade in a puppy mill cage is learning how to be a dog. She was adopted from the puppy mill and fostered by a wonderful person for an unknown period of time. When that person became ill, UYR stepped up to help Punky and placed her with the Millers, a wonderful and dedicated foster family in Michigan.

So, we brought Punky home on September 14, 2014 and she is doing very well! But she's so funny, with crazy little unpredictable quirks that just melt your heart.

The whole time our Christmas tree was up this year, Punky paid no attention to it at all! Then, when we were folding up the velveteen tree skirt, Punky decided to "adopt" it, and we had a heck of a time trying to persuade her that it would make a reappearance next year!

So, despite our gentle attempts to dissuade Miss Punk from joining the tree skirt in the Christmas storage box, she persevered and, completely out of character for her, rode around our living room as Steve, her papa, took her on a "Sleigh Ride."

Punky's Sleigh Ride

Please enjoy the video and our thanks again to the Millers for taking such good care of little Punky.
