Rosie and her new mom and dad
|
Rosie
1/6/18 Sweet Rosie was adopted today. A sweeter, more perfect pup you would never find. Sadly her mom got too sick to care for her and had to go into assisted living. That left sweet Rosie with no home of her own. She stayed for a while with her owner's daughter, but they had three big dogs and Rosie was not happy there. They also worked and Rosie was alone for hours each day. She was not used to that. Her mom never left her and was home with her all the time. Rosie's new mom knew that Rosie was not happy. She needed a home where she would be with someone all day and would get all the attention and love she was used to. Rosie became a United Yorkie Rescue pup. It didn't take long for the perfect mom and daddy to find her and know she was the pup for them. She immediately cuddled with them and gave them kisses and off she went to her forever home with them. She will be an only pup in their life and all the attention and love she once had will be hers again. Rosie has been accepted into the Bridge club her mom and dad go to every week as an honorary member. Her foster mom and dad are so happy for Rosie. Happy Happy tails for Rosie. The best is yet to come.

Ava and her wonderful new family
|
Ava
12-30-17 Ava was adopted today. It's finally true, Ava has been adopted! She has been on a long journey to wellness and she now has her pawfect furever home.
Ava came to UYR on June 19th, 2017. She was a very sick little girl. She was so anemic, she required a blood transfusion the first week she was with us. The vet determined Ava had an autoimmune disorder called Immune Mediated Hemolytic Anemia or IMHA. Her immune system was attacking her red blood cells before they could mature, causing her to be severely anemic.
After a few months of treatment with Prednisone and Azathioprine, her red blood count returned to normal and she was able to stop all medications. She has been off all medications since September and she continues to do well. It took several months for Ava to find just the right home for her medical needs. She can't be vaccinated again so she can't be around other dogs, she can't get groomed at a groomers, or be walked where she can meet another dog. This is to protect her compromised immune system. But finally the right family found her and she found them. They have everything Ava needs including all the love she could want.
Ava is now in her new home and has two wonderful moms who dote on her. They loved her at first sight. It was pretty obvious that Ava felt the same way about them. It was a long road for Ava, but her Happy Tails ending is just her beginning. United Yorkie Rescue and Ava's foster mom are so happy for this special little girl. Hooray and love to Ava and her new moms.

Tuffy and his forever mom
|
Tuffy
12-29-17 Tuffy was adopted today. Tuffy came to us in a tattered fashion. He is deaf, incontinent, and has trouble
with his rear legs. But he was determined. Determined to live as all the other pups do. Most of all he wanted his own home. Foster mom had her doubts but never let him know that. Then there was this lady, this wonderful, loving lady. She was determined too. Determined to love Tuffy with all his problems and love him for the rest of his days. The rest is history. Happy Tails Tuffy! We are so happy for you.

Shelly is adopted and she is so happy
Shelly and her new family
|
Shelly
12-22-17 Shelly was adopted today. Shelly came from a hoarding home of 25 dogs. She was very neglected and starved for attention. Shelly came with an ear infection and a skin infection so severe her skin was black and she had many bald spots. However, through it all she was always beautiful to her foster mom and dad. After a few months her skin cleared up and had a full coat. Full enough that she needed a groomers attention. Shelly did great in her foster home, but she wanted a home to call her own. Shelly was finally adopted to a wonderful family that will give her all the attention she could ever want. She even has a fur sister to play with. She is their Christmas baby and has been renamed Holly. Her new family is so happy that is makes her foster mom's heart smile to know how loved she will always be.

Missy is adopted with her brother Oscar
Missy and Oscar and their new mommy

Missy (and Oscar)
12/21/17 Missy and her brother Oscar were adopted today. Missy and her brother, Oscar, came into United Yorkie Rescue from a very loving owner who was unable to care for these two adorable bundles of joy when she had to go into assisted living. Missy arrived at her foster mom's home with a ruptured ACL. UYR immediately had Missy's ACL and patella repaired and she sent several weeks recovering. Now Missy is no longer in pain. Missy and Oscar thrived while with their foster mom. They loved their fur brothers and their foster mom. It was a joy to wake up every morning and get happy kisses from them as they were snuggled next to the Foster Mom in bed. Missy and Oscar were adopted while Missy still hadn't yet fully recovered. Unfortunately, Missy chased a bird and injured the leg that recently had surgery. After that incident Missy and Oscar were returned to their foster mom. Their foster mom immediately took Missy to the vet and discovered the injured leg was just a little swollen; however Missy had lost 1/3 of her muscle mass after surgery. Missy needed to rest a few weeks before she could be adopted again. Missy also has a narrow trachea and as a result will cough or breathe heavy when nervous or excited. Fortunately for Missy and Oscar, their foster mom found a very special forever Mommy and Daddy for Missy and Oscar. Missy and Oscar's forever parents already love them so much that they are fine with Missy's health issues. They are ready and willing to take the responsibility of providing the care necessary for Missy and Oscar's forever happiness....Thank you to Missy and Oscar's furever parents.

Bentley
12-8-17 Bentley was adopted today. It is so sad to be only a year and a half and have been in 4 different homes. Through no fault of his own Bentley went from one home where they couldn't care for a puppy to his foster home. His first adoption didn't work out because they realized they didn't have the time to give a puppy. A puppy needs to be able to run and play and just enjoy life, not be crated for hours each day. Back Bentley came to United Yorkie Rescue. His foster mom promised him that he would go to one final home and would never ever be sent somewhere else. This sweet boy is so full of love and life. He loves to run and play and just live the life any puppy deserves. He needed a fenced yard because he wasn't so great on leash, and he loves to run like the wind. He needed a friend to play with, and he needed someone who would be home with him much of the day, someone to be with him and help him with his house training, and to love him forever. Today Bentley went to his wonderful forever home. He has a great friend to play with and a mom who is home all day. He will never be crated again for hours and hours. His mom knew the minute she met him this was the pup for her. Bentley is home at last, forever

Sparky and Tater adopted together. Oh Happy Day!
|
Sparky
12-8-17 Sparky and his forever brother Tater were adopted together today. This little 11-month-old puppy was surrendered when he was only 8 months old. He was diagnosed with a liver shunt and he needed surgery very badly or he might not survive. Sadly his mom could not give him the care he needed and with tears she surrender him to United Yorkie Rescue. Sparky received his surgery, after his recovery and the follow up test he needed another month to see if how he would do on regular good dog food. Finally after 3 1/2 months in his foster home Sparky was ready for his forever home. In his foster home Sparky and his foster brother Tater became great friends and playmates. Their foster mom knew the best home for Sparky would be one with another young dog and what better young dog then his best friend Tater. Today they both went to their forever home together. They will be together forever now. They can play all day and grow up and old together. It will be so great too because either their mommy or daddy will be home with them everyday. Sparky is so happy. He has his foster brother who is now his real, true brother, a wonderful mommy and daddy, and a perfect forever home.

Tater and his foster brother Sparky adopted together. Oh Happy Day!

Tater
12-8-17 Tater and his foster brother Sparky were adopted together today. Tater is such a happy, playful little guy. He is sweet, gentle, and loving. He loves everyone, dogs and people. He knew his perfect home would have both a wonderful mommy and daddy and a doggie friend to play with. In his foster home his best friend was his foster brother, Sparky. They played together all the time. As much as Tater wanted his forever home with a great mommy and daddy, he also wanted a home where he could have his friend with him too. Today Tater got adopted and so did his brother Sparky into the same home. They will be together forever now. They can play all day and grow up and old together. It will be so great too because either their mommy or daddy will be home with them everyday. Tater is so happy. He has his foster brother who is now his real, true brother, a wonderful mommy and daddy, and a perfect forever home.

Grace and Angel together forever.
|
Angel (and Grace)
112/3/17 Angel and her best friend and sister Grace were adopted today. Angel and her sister Grace were always together. In their first home their mom couldn't take care of them and had to leave them. United Yorkie Rescue quickly stepped in and rescued them before they had to go to animal control. They did great in their foster home and their foster mom knew they had to stay together always. They always knew where the other one was. They had everything except their own forever home. They waited and waited for someone to make them their forever dogs. Finally the Dynamic Duo of United Yorkie Rescue were so happy. They waited a long time for the perfect home for them to spend the rest of their lives in. That wonderful thing happened today. They now live in a home at the end of a street, with a fenced yard they can run all around in. They are the only furbabies in the home. They have two parents who will love and smother them with hugs and kisses galore. They are finally home and loving every moment of it!

Benny found his forever family. He is adopted!
|
Benny
12-2-17 Benny was adopted today!! Benny's story started in Alabama. One day these wonderful people were driving down the road. There in a backyard they spotted this very small, very dirty, hairy dog living in a pen in the backyard with a Pot-bellied pig. There was a bowl of water, but no food. This sad dog was so thin you could see his ribs and bones. He could barely lift his head to look up at them, but he gave them a wag of his tail to let them know he was happy to see a kind face.
These wonderful people knew they could not leave him there in that awful condition. They knocked on the door and somehow, some way, they convinced the people living there to let them take this dog with them. They quickly grabbed him and put him in their car before the people could change their mind. And so Benny was on his way to Florida. Unfortunately these wonderful people were staying in a motel and could only have two dogs there, so they snuck Benny in since they had their own two dogs with them. They knew they could not keep Benny locked in a motel room for very long. They also discovered that Benny was not the best boy on the trip from Alabama to Florida. They travel a lot and he was not a good traveler. These wonderful people asked United Yorkie Rescue to please find this sweet baby a home where he will be treated with love and given the care he so desperately needed.
Four year old Benny thrived in his foster home. He was cleaned up and groomed. He got wonderful, healthy food and he put on the weight he needed to. He was loved and cared for. All he needed was his forever home and a his very own forever family. Today that happened. He has a wonderful stay a home mommy and daddy who have promised Benny they will love him forever. He will never be locked up and will always be cared for. Benny will never lack for anything ever again. His future is looking for bright. Happy Tails to you Benny.

Hi everyone, I am adopted!

Chloe Ann
11-30-17 Chloe Ann was adopted today. It finally happened. Pretty Chloe Ann went to her forever home. Our sweet little Chloe Ann has found her special family who will love and adore her. Chloe Ann was welcomed with open arms as she started her new life with her wonderful new parents. Chloe Ann will be the only furbaby in her family, so she will be smothered with hugs and kisses galore! Chloe Ann came into UYR with some potential neurological issues and an MRI of her brain was performed to determine exactly what was going on with this sweet girl. After many tests, it was determined that Chloe Ann is in good health except for a little bit of fluid on her brain which could explain some of her odd, but endearing behaviors. In spite of some neurological deficits, Chloe Ann is proved herself to be a loving little girl who will make a wonderful family member for the right family, and today she found that wonderful family that will love and care for her forever .

Buddy and new mom
|
Buddy IN
11-21-2017 Buddy has been adopted. Buddy (now Robby) came into rescue with his fur brother, Cody Joe, because their owners could no longer properly care for them. Buddy and Cody adjusted well to their foster home. Buddy has always been a shadow to his Foster Mom. Cody has an adoption pending.
Buddy loves to play ball and tug-of -war. Foster Mom had the chance to babysit with Buddy for a few days after his adoption, and he really was happy to go back to his adoptive parents. He doesn't have to share with any brothers and sisters now, and he can soak up all the attention and snuggles. He has a beautiful smile.
