I found my forever home
Maya

4-27-18 Maya is adopted. Happy Ending, Happy Tails, Happy everything for one of the sweetest fosters her foster mom ever had. Maya came from an awful hoarder/backyard breeder situation. She learned about love and care in her foster home. Today she was adopted by a very nice couple who have been waiting for a year for the perfect match! Maya is going to be so loved and spoiled as the only dog in the house. Her mom and dad call her the little " queen of the house." She already has a bunch of toys, doggie beds, fluffy blankets, and a nice little carrier handbag so she can go everywhere with her mom and dad. From now one she is going to have the life she always deserved!

Bella and her new family
Bella

Bella was reluctantly surrendered to UYR by her owners who loved her, but they felt Bella would have a happier life if she was in a home where she would get more attention. She is a very smart and well-mannered little girlie who settled in nicely in her foster home.

This sweet girl was adopted today into a wonderful home with teenagers - Bella loves children and is super athletic, so she will surely enjoy playing with the teens in the home. She will also enjoy playing in the fenced-in backyard at her new home. Have a happy life Sweet Bella!

Love at first sight!
Smokey

Senior Smokey Finds His Furever Home

Senior furbaby (10+ years) Smokey was adopted by the Fred and Trula Montgomery family in April 2018.

Smokey has continued to have daily needs of collapsing trachea, hernia, almost blind from cataracts,

urinary incontenance (he wears a pee pad daily) and lingering issues of fear. This little guy has not let

any of these issues affect his personality! He has adjusted socially slowly, as expected - and finally,

eight months of patience paid off, and he now begs to be on the lap of Mom & Dad every minute they

are sitting down! When found, this little guy was down to 1# 8oz. He has spent the last year building his

muscle mass back and is starting to show a little "normal" weight gain. Since building muscle mass, he is

starting to enjoy leash walks and the fenced back yard, although his sight is almost gone, he takes his

time and listens and sniffs the air a lot as he goes. He couldn't walk very long prior to that, without tiring

out. He tolerates his three fur brothers and sisters, but joins the pack in any adventure they set out on,

barking his high pitch bark and doing his little "up-in-the-air" dance as he barks each time! His Mama

works from home, so he spends his mornings and afternoons taking long sleeps. His FAV words? "Bitebite time!" and "Time for your noon-snack!"

Bernie has a new mommy and a perfect forever home
Bernie

4-22-18 Bernie was adopted today. Bernie found himself in the shelter though no fault of his own. His owners were no longer able to care for him so they took him to the shelter. Bernie sat in the shelter for several days waiting for someone to adopt him or come to his rescue. At last United Yorkie Rescue did. Bernie needed to see the vet as soon as possible. He has a perinea hernia, which affected his ability to have a bowel movement. The hernia was the size of a baseball on poor Bernie's bottom. This poor little fella had to contort himself like a pretzel to have a bowel movement. He also needed his mouth and teeth cared for as well as a neuter. When all that was done, and it took awhile for Bernie to recover from his hernia surgery, and he was feeling much better he was ready for his forever home. This terrific dog who is so well behaved needed a home with someone there to love him all the time. He gets along great with other dogs, but loves people more. Finally the right mommy came along and wanted to make Bernie her forever pup. His new mommy works from home a lot and that is just fine with Bernie. There is a dog park near by and lots of other dogs in the neighborhood. Bernie is one lucky fellow. He found his perfect forever home.

Rascal and his new mommy and fur brother
Rascal

4/19/18 Rascal was adopted today. Rascal came to UYR looking for much needed love and attention. His former daddy got very sick and the family was unable to care for Rascal. They did not have the means to care for Rascal, nor did they have the time to give a young 9 month old puppy the time and attention a puppy needs. That all changed when Rascal went to his forever home today. Rascal's new mommy works from home and can spend quality time with Rascal during the day. Rascal's new daddy works outside of the home but can't wait to spend his evenings and weekends doting on Rascal. Rascal is so excited because he has a fur brother that is young and loves to play with him. He also has a larger fur brother who is recovering from surgery and can't wait to start playing with Rascal. There is a large fenced yard and a pool for summer enjoyment. Rascal hit the jackpot with his new family...Thank you to Rascal's furever family.

Tess and her mew mom and dad.
Tess

4015/18 Little Tess was adopted today. Tess arrived at her foster home limping badly and lifting her right leg up. That was not the way a 4.5-year-old pup should be walking. Her foster mom knew right away this was more than just a bad knee. Tess had already been through enough, but it wasn't over yet. Her first mommy died and then her daddy got very sick and was dying. He could not longer care for poor Tess. Her foster mom knew, though, that Tess's problems were just beginning and they were. The vet checked her right leg and confirmed Tess would need surgery to repair her ligament and to put her knee back into place instead of it wobbly all around. On February 26th Tess had her surgery. It was a rough surgery because she also needed an umbilical hernia repaired at the same time. Poor Tess came home like looking so sad and so sore. She slept the first 2 days. It took a while but finally Tess healed and was walking on her right leg most of the time. It took almost 2 months, but finally Tess was finally able to go to her forever home. She met her new mom and dad and it was love. Tess, who is usually shy and timid, seemed right at home with her new mom and dad. Tess found the perfect home for her. No other dogs, a nice fenced yard to watch the squirrels, and a mom and dad who were home most of the time to be with her. Tess found her forever home for sure. Her foster mom and dad want Tess to know they will miss her, but they know her life will be filled with so much love and happiness.

Daisy and her new family
Daisy

4-14-18 Daisy was adopted today. Daisy was sadly surrendered because she was very unhappy. She was living with her mom and 5 other dogs who were much bigger than her. She was scared all the time and spent her day hiding in her crate. Her mom knew that sweet Daisy was just so scared and unhappy with all those other dogs around her that she had to find her a happier, better place. Daisy became a United Yorkie Rescue and went to her foster home where there are only 2 others dogs. It is a lot quieter and her new foster fur siblings are gentler and kinder to darling Daisy. Daisy did great in her foster home, but really wanted a forever home of her own. Today she met and fell in love with her new family. Her stay at home mom and dad and one other small fur brother. She has a nice, quiet house, a really great fenced yard, and lots and lots of love and attention. Daisy found her forever home and now has her happily forever ever.

I am the happiest girl in the world
Lola

4-12-18 Sweet Lola was adopted today. Lola ended up somehow in a high-kill shelter. Because the shelter was so over-crowded, Lola was only one day away from being euthanized. United Yorkie Rescue could not let that happen to this precious little Yorkie "wannabe." We had to save her from such a fate. And so Lola became a United Yorkie Rescue baby. Her foster mom took her to the vet and found out that she had cataracts in both eyes. The cataract in her left eye was mature and she has very little vision in that eye. She was able to see shadows with her right eye. Somehow we had to find a way to restore Lola's site in at least one eye if we could. With the help of our many angels we raised enough money for Lola to have cataract surgery on one eye. Her surgery was on 01/30 and although there were a few bumps along the road, Lola did great and now she can see. Imagine going from a dark world, to on filled with light. She explored everything she could with her new eyesight. The doggie eye doctor was very pleased with the results of the surgery. After several more trips to the eye surgeon for rechecks Lola was finally released and able to go to her forever home. That happened today. Lola has a wonderful new stay at home forever mom who she will have all to herself. She doesn't have to share her mommy anymore. She has a beautiful fenced yard for running and sunning. Lola is also close enough to her eye surgeon for a few more check ups. Lola is the happiest little girl in the world. It is a world she can see and a mom to love her and care for her forever.

Haley and her wonderful new mom and fur siblings
Haley

4-10-18 Haley was adopted today. Things were pretty sad for Haley for a while. First her mom died and then her dad got very sick with cancer and could no longer take care of Haley. It was with so much sadness and a heavy heart that Haley became a United Yorkie Rescue dog. Haley's foster mom and dad gave her a wonderful new life. She got along with the other dogs in her foster home and even the cats. They found that she loves being outside chasing the squirrels. She also loves just relaxing and sitting in the sun. But for Haley there is nothing better than sitting in her foster mom or dad's lap and having a nice long cuddle with them. Haley learned some good doggie manners in her foster home and she was a happy girl. All that was missing was a forever home of her own, and that happened today. She has a terrific new mommy and two other fur siblings for friends. Best of all Haley has a wonderful fenced backyard, and can now chase all the squirrels she wants. She is so happy with her new family. Her foster mom and dad will miss her, but they know Haley has exactly the forever home she has always dreamed of.

Even Coco is smiling. She found her forever mommy and daddy
Coco

4/7/18 Coco was adopted today. Sweet, playful Coco the 7-month-old puppy was adopted today. You can see how happy she is with her new family. She is smiling along with her new mommy and daddy. Coco came to United Yorkie Rescue almost 3 months ago. She was only 4 months old and weighed a tiny 2.5 pounds. Her former vet told her owners, after some testing, he was sure Coco had a liver shunt and needed surgery right away. United Yorkie Rescue would never turn away a dog if we could help and Coco became a United Yorkie Rescue dog. In February she got her operation and stayed in her foster home for 2 1/2 months while she healed. The good news came when she had her follow up bile acids test and it came showing that the shunt surgery was a success. Hooray!! Coco was ready to find her forever home. Coco found the most perfect home. She has a wonderful fenced yard. She met the dog next door and they were already playing together. She has a stay at home mom and dad. Coco even has another home right on the beach. That will be fun, fun, fun for her. Her new mommy and daddy are ready to work with Coco as she continues to learn her proper puppy manners. It will be a wonderful life for Coco. She knows she is home forever with the best mommy and daddy any puppy could want

Trixie and Abigail and their new mom. Adopted together
Trixie (and Abigail)

3-24-18 Trixie and her sister Abigail were adopted together today. Trixie and her sister Abigail know they were very lucky to have been saved by United Yorkie Rescue. They were originally in a home where they were not cared for at all and were very sad there. They were rescued by a very nice lady and lived in her home for a while. However, she was away from home a lot of hours every day and knew it wasn't the best situation for them. She contacted United Yorkie Rescue and Trixie and Abigail were on their way to their new foster home. Because they were originally in a home with such dismal conditions they never learned proper house training or how to walk on a leash. Their foster mom worked hard with the girls. In spite of all that, their foster mom said they are the sweetest, most loving little girls.

Today they found their forever home. Their new mom is so excited and has already bought them both a whole new wardrobe of the latest doggie fashions. They will get to go on safe golf cart rides and learn more doggie manners. They have wonderful new toys and will make new doggie friends. Their new mom is ready to love these two girls forever and ever. What a great life ahead for Trixie and Abigail.
